What in the world is going on?

The Corona Virus has taken the world by storm. Like something out of Revelations, this messenger from a dark and unseen realm with his bow (weapon) and crown (corona) are wrecking havoc on the nations of the world. For reasons we don’t understand, providence has allowed this invisible enemy to go on a worldwide rampage of “conquering and to conquer.” Rev. 6.2

Nations all over the world are on lockdown as the health community fights to save as many lives as possible. Governments have restrictions on business and have quarantined whole cities and States. Like the first Passover in Egypt, families are all staying in their houses until the plague has passed. The symbolism feels real, like it must have felt then and like it’s happening again! At the very same time of year, the Passover and Easter of 2020 (5780)!

Some may see this as a sign of the end times while others not so much. Either way it is safe to say that no one has seen anything like this before and it begs the question, What in the world is going on here? Could it be that He who is worthy has opened the first seal?

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Ps. 24:1, 2

Whatever is happening, God is in control. He is working out his plans and purposes in the lives of those who put their trust in him. There’s no need to fear, but only trust. In Gen. 15.6 it is written that “Abraham believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness. John also, recognizing the Father in His Son Jesus wrote, “that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him (Jesus)”.

The Lord Jesus commanded his follower to watch for his return and to be mindful of the times and seasons. No man knows the day or the hour of the second coming of Christ, but it’s not hard to see that the times and seasons are ripe and the fields ready to harvest.

God’s purpose has always been to reconcile us to Himself and He wants us to know that He loves us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 15-17

Maranatha!

The Seals

Revelations 6:1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!” 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest. 3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword. 5 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. 6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!” 7 When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!” 8 I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
