What is a Jubilee Effect?

To be a Jubilee Effect it first must be consistent with the restoration of God’s purposes for our lives through forgiveness of sin, redemption and deliverance from evil.

Second, we should see them occur at 50 year intervals and third, they will affect the nation of Israel most directly.

Examples of the Jubilee Effect on the global stage include events surrounding sovereign debt, currency market swings and turmoil in the stocks and bond markets. Quantitative easing and large devaluations of currencies are some recent examples. Socially, it would mark a time of liberty for the oppressed; freedom from enslavement and a returning to one’s homeland. In short, a restoration of God’s purposes for our lives.

Obviously the first challenge is fixing a date. How do we know the year of Jubilee? I’m using 2017 as the most recent year of Jubilee because that’s when it was most recently celebrated in Jerusalem and that’s when the shofar was blown. I reckon they know a lot more about it that I do so I’ll take their word on it.

So beginning with 2017 let’s go back 50 years at a time to see the time periods we need to explore; i.e. 2017, 1967, 1917, and 1867 etc. Are you with me?

By the way, Jesus told the Pharisees not to bother looking for signs of the Kingdom of God until they got the Kingdom of God in their hearts. The same is true today. The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed or obtained by natural abilities but it is coming right on schedule nonetheless.

Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.

Luke 17: 20

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
